YOUR ART CLASS SEES A SEAHORSE

When the Audubon Nature lnstitute's Aquarium of the Americas opened in 1990 I volunteered. I had to take classes to learn about all the wonderful sea creatures. My favorite was the seahorse. It is a fish that moves vertically. It has a head that looks like a hose, but it has long snout. The seahorse does not move around a lot and uses its tail to wrap around grasses or coral to stay in place. Its eyes move independently and its body is covered in bony plates that look like armor. The most interesting thing about seahorses is the male carries the fertilized eggs and gives birth to the babies. So maybe Your Art Class sees the seahorse differently now!
