The Eastern European country of Ukraine is on the Black Sea and boarders Russia. The Ukrainian people have a century's old custom of decorating eggs. Ukrainian families have developed particular designs and decorations using certain colors and lines to create unique, one of a kind creations that are collected by people all over the world. The art of decorating eggs using a wax-resist and dye method is called "pysanky." A decorated Ukrainian Easter egg is known as a "pysanka."
