Your Art Class is Great like the December Butterfly

The Great Scarlet Mormon Butterfly, also known scientifically as Papilio rumazovia, is the December butterfly. It is large, with some species measuring over 5 ½ inches. The Scarlet is native to Southern Asia. There are 13 subspecies, many female forms and 4 male forms of this exotic butterfly. The male is mostly solid black with blue streaks, and may have a red mark on the inner upper wings. Usually the male does not have a swallowtail. The female has more red markings. Those with December birthdays are like the Great Scarlet Mormon butterfly: mysterious and unique.
