Your Art Class is a Vessel

Vessels, urns, and vases have been used for storing or carrying things since the beginning of civilization. All of the ancient civilizations baked dirt, in the form of clay, to make vessels. Pottery is baked earthen ware clay that is opaque, meaning you can’t see through it. A coating called glaze is added to the outside to make it more durable. Porcelain is a combination of two special clays that are baked and it is translucent, meaning light can be seen through it, however you can’t see through porcelain. The Chinese civilization were the first people to perfect the art of making porcelain. Now you can decorate your own vessel.
