Your Art Class Gives Fathers Ties

It is said that the Croatians invented the necktie or neckerchief as part of their military uniform during the Thirty Years War (1618-1648). French King Louis XIV liked the neckerchiefs and decided to wear one. Then different knots and different fabrics were used. Ascots evolved from the Ascot Heath Horse Races where they were worn in England. The wealthy wore bow ties with tuxedos and scholars adopted the trend. In the 1920’s Jesse Langford came up with the style of necktie worn today. One hundred years later, the necktie is still going strong!
