Your Art Class is Out on a Limb

Trees are made of woody structural material starting with roots, then the trunk grows, boughs where branches grow, branches that grow out, limbs that are also branches, and twigs that are the smallest woody material. The botanical reference for the woody material is “ramus.” All the woody material supports the foliage or leaves that keep the tree alive. I loved climbing trees when I was a young girl and I love drawing and painting trees as an artist. I suggest you go out on a limb and try drawing one.
