Your Art Class Has a Fleur de Lis Collection

The Fleur de Lis is a favorite image of mine because it is the symbol of the New Orleans Saints Football team and I am a fan. I have a pink fleur de lis on the back of my car. The fleur de lis means flower in French and is designed after the wild iris. The French have adopted the symbol. It was first used by French royalty with King Louis VI or VII. Joan of Arc used the fleur de lis on her shield when she led the French to defeat the British. When I was fortunate enough to visit Paris I was amazed at how many fleur de lis images I saw. Your Art Class can enjoy the beauty of the fleur de lis design even if you are not Saints fans.
