Your Art Class has a Stained Angel

Stained Glass is different pieces of colored glass held together with lead strips. Light comes through the colored glass to create a unique effect. Stained glass windows are often seen in churches and places of worship. Many people make stained glass art in a frame to be hung in front of light or in a window. The first stained glass was created in the 12th or 13th century. Sand and potash, or wood ash, are used to make glass by heating the combination until it forms a liquid. Powdered metals are added when the mixture is in a liquid state in order to create the colored glass. Your Art Class can create a stained glass window without having to heat it!
