Your Art Class is Gummy

The beautiful Sweet Gum Tree is also called a hazel pine and American Storax.  Its leaves are shaped like stars and change from green, to yellow, to orange, to deep maroon. The colorful leaves stay for a while and create a beautiful fall show. However the trees are deciduous, which means they lose their leaves. Besides the beautiful star leaves, the Sweet Gum trees have unusual spiky fruit that are called gumballs. Goldfinch birds, squirrels, chipmunks, and other little critters love to eat the gumballs. Crafters like to collect and use the gumballs for various crafts. So get gummy and try doing a Sweet Gum Tree.
