Series D Week 23

Your Art Class Designs Flora

Flora motifs are used in many designs and on many things. The design comes from a flower, leaf, or vine but it is stylized into a more precise shape. The stylized flora motif is usually symmetrically placed to create a certain pattern with the design. The more common flora designs are the fleur de lis, which is derived from a lily; the acanthus leaf, which was used by the Greeks since the 5th century BC; rosettes, which are round symmetrical flowers; vines, with curly ends; and the
palmette, which consists of fan shaped leaves and have been used since the 4th century BC. Your Art Class can create your own stylized flora design.
