Your Art Class Flamingoes

There is an expression, birds of a feather flock together. The flamingo is a bird of a unique feather and they do flock together. Their different feather is the color pink. They get their color from carotenoids that also are responsible for turning tomatoes red. Flamingoes get the carotenoids from the natural foods they eat that also contain red, yellow, and orange pigments. Besides their unique color, flamingoes build their unique nests out of mud and both the mom and dad take turns incubating the eggs. The flamingo became a part of pop culture when Don Featherstone designed the lawn art flamingo in 1957. Your Art Class can flock your unique flamingoes together.
