Your Art Class is Light as a Feather
 
Feathers are interesting. There are different kinds of feathers. The fluffy down feathers are called plumulaceous and the flat feathers are called pennaceous. They are made of Keratin, like our fingernails and are very lightweight. However birds molt and loose feathers, and then grow new ones. People used to collect the molted feathers but that has been outlawed. People started killing birds for their feathers so much that the Federal Migratory Bird Act was passed in 1972 and among other things,· made it illegal to collect feathers without a special permit. Your Art Class does not need a special permit to be as light as a feather.
