Your Art Class Trots with Turkeys

Thanksgiving is turkey time. The lifespan of a turkey is around 10 years and they grow to a height of 3 feet with a wing span of 4 feet. The red wattle is a distinctive feature of the turkey. The male has the fuller and more colorful feathers. They gobble instead of chirp and the gobble can be heard a mile away. Because turkeys are native to the USA Ben Franklin wanted the turkey to be the national bird. Instead, the turkey has become the symbol of Thanksgiving. In the wild they often travel in a flock. However a group of domesticated turkeys are said to be a rafter or a gang. Your Art Class can trot with a rafter, gang or a flock and be thankful you are not a turkey.
