Your Art Class Monkeys Around

Monkeys are primate mammals just like humans. Perhaps that's why humans enjoy them so much. The smallest primate, Madame Berthe's mouse lemur, is under 4 inches and was discovered in Madagascar in 1992. The largest primate is the Congo Gorilla, measuring just under 6 feet and weighing close to 500 pounds. There are over 200 different species of primates with hands and feet and the manual dexterity that other animals do not have. Because of their humanlike
qualities monkeys are intriguing to humans. Artists have used monkeys in art as satirical and humorous commentary on humans. Your Art Class can have fun with monkeys and dress them as you like.
